ABOUT ANNA
I love
color and paint. Home Depot, graffiti, DIY, music, fashion, television
and Target stores are wonderful things that I am inspired by. I make
my work primarily as a form of entertainment, that is to say I make
anything that amuses, pleases or diverts the attention of the viewer.
In all appearances my work is bright, glossy, fun and superficial and
stands in opposition to the general seriousness and responsibility of
high art. The work also celebrates what I consider the seemingly mundane,
for the purpose of deriving a sense of pleasure for the viewer. Consumerism
intrigues me; I don’t want to comment on it I’d just like
to be a part of it. I believe art belongs on the wall and in our hands.
I want to make what you look at in the world accessible, pretty and
fun.
